Guess the emoji: easy phrases first
The first cards spell simple compound words, like a star plus a fish. Read them out loud and the answer usually snaps into place.

How do emoji riddles work?
Each card shows a short emoji string that spells a word, phrase, or movie. You either sound the pictures out or treat them as clues, then tap to check the answer.
Who invented emoji?
Shigetaka Kurita is widely credited with designing an early emoji set in 1999 for the Japanese mobile carrier NTT DoCoMo. The word joins the Japanese e, meaning picture, with moji, meaning character. Unicode added emoji in 2010, which is why they now work across phones worldwide.
Are emoji riddles good for a party or group chat?
Very. Read a string aloud or screenshot a card and let the room shout guesses. The movie rebuses at the end are the crowd favorites.
